Bach's Lunch: A Baroque Beatles Renaissance (Lecture)

Description

“Travel through time” as Cody Switzer and Emily Adams discuss similarities between the music of the English Renaissance (John Dowland, William Byrd, Thomas Morley) and that of the Beatles! They will discuss how lute songs, as well as the music of Lennon and McCartney, translate so well to solo voice and guitar. With musical examples and stories, they will weave a tale as old as the 15th century and as new as the 20th. This event will be held in our historic Recital Hall. It is free of charge and open to the public, thanks to the generosity of the Walker Fund. Donations are appreciated.
