Considering Matthew Shepard an Oratorio for Choir, Soloists and Orchestra by Craig Hella Johnson- Performance by The Manchester Choral Society

Friday, June 6, 2025 7:00 AM - Sunday, June 8, 2025 3:00 PM (EDT)

Description

The Manchester Choral Society (MCS) is proud to present the profound and transformative concert work Considering Matthew Shepard by Craig Hella Johnson. The concerts commemorate the 1998 death of Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old gay student at the University of Wyoming. His brutal murder touched off a national movement that led to a 2009 federal anti-hate crime law bearing Shepard’s name and that of Joseph Byrd, Jr., a black Texan who was brutally murdered by three white supremacists the same year.

The concerts will take place during Pride Month on June 6th (7pm) and 8th (3pm), 2025 at The Venues at the Factory, 252 Willow Street in Manchester, NH. Ticket information can be found at www.mcsnh.org and may also be purchased at the door.
