Primary Purpose To maintain a clean and disinfected environment throughout the Nursing Home.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Dry-mop, sweep, and vacuum in all areas, including stairways and elevators.
2. Damp dust furniture, ledges, and window sills.
3. Wash windows, screens, walls, toilets, toilet brushes and containers, sinks, pipes/drains, mirror, tubs, closets and cabinets.
4. Strip, scrub, wax and buff floors.
5. Collect trash from all areas.
6. Vacuum rugs and drapes.
7. Clean chairs, wheelchairs, lamps, lights, stainless steal railings, beds and mattresses.
8. Take down and return curtains.
9. Fill soap, toilet paper, and pater towel dispensers.
Competencies
1. Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of housekeeping operations and responsibilities.
2. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with administrative staff, employees, and residents..
3. Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and in writing.
4. Ability to receive detail information through oral communications.
5. Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
6. Ability to work in extreme heat temperature (above 100 degrees) and extreme cold (temp below zero degree) and in exposure to poor ventilation, dust, and noise for periods of one hour or less.
7. Ability to understand and follow simple instructions and to use simple equipment involving few decisions.

EDUCATION: Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession and the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
