Capital Region Food Program Expands Local Impact With Two New Community Partnerships And Donating $28,000 in Supplemental Food Aid

Capital Region Food Program (CRFP) announces the expansion of its Year Round Distribution Project through two new partnerships with Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care and Overcomers Refugee Services of New Hampshire. These collaborations aim to strengthen local efforts to combat food insecurity across the greater Concord area.

Food insecurity continues to impact thousands of individuals and families throughout New Hampshire. From those facing serious health challenges to individuals building new lives in a new country, access to nutritious food remains a critical need.

CRFP’s Year Round Distribution Project works to address this need by providing food at no cost to local service organizations that directly support individuals and families faced with food insecurity.

Supporting Cancer Patients Through Nutrition

Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care, an accredited Comprehensive Community Cancer Center, is committed to delivering high-quality cancer diagnosis and treatment. As part of its commitment to best-in-class care, the center is launching its own food pantry to support patients experiencing food insecurity during treatment.

“Nutrition is a critical component in supporting cancer patients throughout their treatment journey,” said Tamara Wrenn, Director of the Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care.

“Through our partnership with the Capital Region Food Program, we hope to support many of our patients who are actively undergoing treatment and struggling to make ends meet amid the rising cost of food on a limited income.”

Expanding Support for Refugee and Immigrant Communities

Overcomers Refugee Services of New Hampshire serves refugees and immigrants in the Concord area by providing resources, education, and support on their path to independence.

Building on an existing partnership through CRFP’s annual Holiday Project, the organization will now receive ongoing food support through the Year Round Distribution Project to help sustain its formalized food pantry.

“CRFP has valued our long-term partnership with Overcomers Refugee Services,” said Jennifer Carleton, Chair, CRFP Board of Trustees.

“We are proud to support their efforts to help New Americans establish stable, healthy lives in our community.”

Creating Sustainable Impact

With the support of volunteers, donors, and partner agencies, CRFP has distributed 8.5 tons of food, totaling over $28,000, to 24 different local community service agencies throughout the first quarter of 2026.

CRFP is committed to reducing hunger through collaboration with community partners that directly serve individuals and families facing food insecurity. Through these partnerships, the organization ensures that food reaches those who need it most.
